Use
of conventional transit
In an effort to make it easier for
members of the disabled community to use transit, a new telephone hotline
called "Access OC Transpo"
has been has been activated to help customers
find out more about accessible services on conventional transit.
Access OC Transpo can be reached
at 613-842-3625.
Trip-Planning
assistance
Customers may call with questions about accessible bus routes
and stops or for trip-planning assistance.
The hotline is staffed from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. weekdays, or customers may leave a message and Transit staff
will phone them back as soon as possible.

Low-Floor
Buses
Most
regular "black" routes use fully-accessible low floor buses
and th O-Train is also fully accessible.
However, during rush-hours or due to other circumstances, regular high-floor
buses may be assigned to these routes from time-to time.
Low-Floor trips are identified in Bus
Stop Schedules and the Travel
Planner.
You
can also call 613-560-1000
to confirm that your trip will have a low-floor bus.
With recent additions to the Transit
fleet, low-floor buses now make up over
50% of OC Transpo
vehicles.
Use of
OC Transpo conventional transit service does not affect customers’ eligibility to use
Para Transpo.
OC Transpo
no longer offers free conventional
transit service
for customers using a wheelchair,
scooter or walker.
However,
a new discounted pass is available which reduces the cost of
transit
by more than 60% for people with disabilities who also have a low family
income.
