One Stop Night Stop Program Expanded |
|||
|
(Ottawa, Friday, February 2, 2001) Starting Monday February 5, OC Transpo is expanding its Transitway Night Stop program by extending it to five more Transitway stations. The Night Stop program was launched in 1997, as part of TRANSECURE, OC Transpo's community watch program on wheels. Night Stop is designed to improve safety and convenience by grouping all routes serving the local platforms at one common stop after 9 p.m. Night Stops are easy to find! They have a yellow bus stop flag, featuring the TRANSECURE logo and they light up after 9 p.m., when the program is in effect. They are centrally located in well-lit areas and are close to yellow emergency call boxes and pay phones. Night Stop is one more way to improve safety for transit riders. The Night Stop stations will now include: Baseline Bayshore Billings Bridge Blair Lincoln Fields Hurdman Lees Place d'Orléans South Keys St. Laurent (Local platforms only) Night Stop also exists at regular bus stops throughout the city. Riders who may feel uneasy about getting off at regular stops in the community, after 9 p.m., can ask the driver to let them off at another spot along the route closer to their destination. Customers who need further information on the Night Stop program or other OC Transpo services can call (613) 741-4390 or visit the web site at octranspo.com |
