Spring service change means the return of |

Following the two previous successful years of the program, OC Transpo has installed bike racks on the front of 200 buses for the upcoming cycling season. Bike-rack equipped buses will be designated to routes 2, 95 and 97, although they may be occasionally assigned to other routes. The designated Rack & Roll routes allow cyclists to expand their horizons, making it possible to bring their bikes along to Place d'Orléans in the east, Kanata Town Centre in the west, and the Airport in the south. Customers are encouraged to use any of the bus-mounted bike-racks, whether on a designated Rack & Roll route or not. Literally hundreds of popular cycling destinations are made available that might normally be out of riding range for some cyclists. It's good exercise and good for the environment. Starting April 22, new schedules go into effect to reflect the reduced demand for service in the spring. Transit riders should obtain new timetables for all peak-period and express routes as well as several regular routes, which have schedule changes. Key service changes also include the new route 168, which will operate between Lincoln Fields and the Corel Centre, seven days a week during select time periods. Route 117 to Carleton University will be suspended until September and the frequency of route 129 to La Cité collégiale will be reduced to coincide with the end of the academic year. Route 181 (trial Saturday Shopper's Shuttle to Bayshore) will be cancelled due to low ridership. For scheduled bus arrival times up to six days ahead of time,
customers can call 560-1000 plus the four-digit number
displayed on their bus stop. New schedules, service change
details, information on the Rack & Roll program, as well as
trip planning information are all available by calling 741-4390
(TTY:741-5280), or by visiting www.octranspo.com.
