These accessible vehicles are designed for single driver operation and can be driven in either direction. The Talent train has been in operation in Europe for five years and are very much appreciated by the passengers. "We are very proud to provide Ottawa with their first Talent Light Rail vehicles" said Mike Hardt, Vice President, Customer Service and Maintenance Operations, North America, Bombardier Transportation. "These vehicles were developed to meet the needs of regional as well as suburban passenger rail operations. We expect the Talent to become a highly popular transportation choice." "It’s an exciting time for everyone involved in this project" said Mayor Bob Chiarelli. "The futuristic design of the Bombardier trains reinforces the fact that Light Rail is a very important part of serving future growth in Ottawa" added Mr. Chiarelli. The Talent trains will provide service between Greenboro and Bayview stations during a two-year pilot project. "Light rail will improve the quality of life and mobility choices for transit customers" said Madeleine Meilleur, Chair of the Transportation and Transit Committee "we are very proud to accept delivery of these magnificent vehicles and look forward to the start of service in August."
