WEEKEND ENTERTAINMENT DESTINATIONS...
ONLY MINUTES FROM YOUR DOOR!

Ottawa-This weekend offers many choices for your entertainment pleasure: the Blues Festival, the Hope Volleyball Tournament and the CHEO Teddy Bears’ Picnic. No matter what your entertainment plans are this weekend, transit is the smart and economical choice to avoid downtown traffic delays and parking hassles.

The OC Transpo DayPass is a great way to take in several events in the same day. It’s available for only $5 at over 300 vendors or on board any OC Transpo bus. On Sundays, it’s even better value because it becomes a family pass, allowing two adults, and up to four children under twelve to travel for one low price.

BLUES FESTIVAL: This year’s Blues Festival is located right next to the LeBreton Transitway station. You can ride transit right from your door to the Festival site or take the bus from any OC Transpo Park & Ride lot. The Greenboro lot in the south is located at Bank and Johnston Road, the Baseline lot in the southwest is at Woodroffe and Baseline, the Orléans lot in the east is at Place d’Orléans Transitway station and the Eagleson lot in the west is on Eagleson Road at the 417.

HOPE BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: More than 1000 teams are competing once again this year at Mooney’s Bay. Parking is limited so if you’re planning to attend, we HOPE you’ll make the right choice. Free shuttle service is available from Carleton University parking lot #3. You can also park at any OC Transpo Park & Ride lot and ride the regular service. Routes 87 and 111 serve Mooney’s Bay.

TEDDY BEARS’ PICNIC: This year’s CHEO Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Rideau Hall promises to be a real BASH! OC Transpo volunteer drivers are providing free shuttle service between Rideau Hall and former Ottawa City Hall at 111 Sussex Dr., National Research Council and the Aviation Museum, just so you don’t have to deal with the UNBEARABLE traffic and parking conditions around the site. You can also take transit all the way, or park & ride at any OC Transpo lot. Route 3 also serves Rideau Hall. Regular fares apply except for the special free shuttle services. REMEMBER, TEDDY BEARS ALWAYS RIDE FREE WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY A CHILD!
