Free O-Train family weekends during the Italian Week Festival

Ottawa- Ottawa’s summer festival season continues this week with the Italian Week festival and
OC Transpo will make getting there all the easier, with free O-Train family weekends.

Residents attending activities on Preston Street can take the O-Train to Carling Station, then make the short walk to Preston Street.

Street closures along Preston Street will mean detours along bus routes 3 and 14 during the festival weekends. There will be no service on Preston St. Buses will instead travel via Somerset and Bronson.

Festival-goers are encouraged to take transit to shuttle points to avoid traffic and parking congestion. They can Park & Ride or take transit all the way. To make transit even more economical, OC Transpo customers can use the DayPass as a family pass on each Sunday of the Italian Week festival weekends. This means that up to six people, four of whom must be under 12, can ride any OC Transpo bus route for only $5 a day. DayPasses are available at more than 375 vendors or on the buses.

For more information, assistance with transit trip planning and detour information, festival-goers should call 741-4390 or visit OC Transpo’s web site at www.octranspo.com.
