Ottawa-
This weekend offers a pair of
activities for your entertainment pleasure: the Blues Festival and the
CHEO Teddy Bears’ Picnic. No
matter what your entertainment plans, transit is the smart and economical
choice for avoiding downtown traffic and the headaches of parking.
The
OC Transpo DayPass is a great way to take in several events in the same
day. It’s available for
only $5 at over 300 vendors, or on board any OC Transpo bus.
On Sundays, the DayPass is an even better value because it becomes
a family pass, allowing two adults and up to four children under 12 to
travel for one low price.
BLUES
FESTIVAL: This year’s
Blues Festival is located downtown, with most stages only a few steps from
the Mackenzie King Transitway station. Avoid the parking and traffic blues and ride transit from
your door to the Festival site, or take the bus from any OC Transpo Park
& Ride lot.
TEDDY
BEARS’ PICNIC: This
year’s CHEO Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Rideau Hall promises to be a real
B.A.S.H.! OC Transpo
volunteer drivers are providing free shuttle service between Rideau Hall
and former Ottawa City Hall at 111 Sussex Dr., the National Research
Council, and the Aviation Museum, so you don’t have to deal with the unbearable
traffic and parking conditions around the site.
You can also take transit, or park & ride from any OC Transpo
lot. Route 3 also serves
Rideau Hall, although normal fares apply on regular OC Transpo routes.
Remember, teddy bears ride free when accompanied by a child!
