Ottawa
– War veterans who
wear their medals and/or uniforms can ride OC Transpo and STO (Société
de transport de l’Outaouais) free during National Veterans’ Week –
November 5 to 11.
Where it is safe to do so, OC Transpo and STO buses
will pull over to the side of the road to observe two minutes of silence
on November 11 at 11 a.m. Taps
and Reveille will be played over
the radios of OC Transpo buses.
On Remembrance Day, OC Transpo will run a weekday
schedule with minor reductions on some routes. OC Transpo Sales and
Information Centres will operate on a modified schedule:
Rideau Centre - 12:30 to 9 p.m.; Lincoln Fields, St. Laurent and
Place d’Orléans Transitway stations - 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For OC Transpo service information or travel
planning, customers can call 741-4390 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. or visit www.octranspo.com.
Automated schedule information is available 24 hours a day by calling
