Tour the tulips with OC Transpo from May 5 to 23

Ottawa Residents and tourists can relax and see the tulips aboard the Tulip Shuttle from Thursday, May 5 to Monday, May 23. This year the Tulip Shuttle will follow a new routing and will operate on weekdays as well as weekends. Children 12 and under ride free and adults can ride free with their “Tulip Experience Passport” or pay just $2.50 to ride the shuttle all day.

OC Transpo’s shuttle will operate in a one-way loop from downtown Ottawa at Major’s Hill Park, then via Wellington, the new Canadian War Museum and Preston Street to Dow’s Lake then along the scenic canal back to downtown. Transfers to the STO shuttle can be made at Major’s Hill Park.

The shuttle will operate on the following schedule:

May 5 to 6: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. approx. every 30 minutes
May 7*:  10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  approx. every 15 minutes

* On May 7 and 8 there will be a detour in effect downtown. The shuttle will operate along Albert Street between Elgin and Preston, instead of via Wellington and the Canadian War Museum.

Customers can use their “Tulip Experience Passport” which gets them on board the Tulip Shuttle free, or, for just $2.50 payable on the shuttle, customers will get a Tulip Shuttle Ticket that will let them ride on the shuttle all day. The Tulip Shuttle is free for children 12 and under. CASH FARE ONLY IS ACCEPTED on the Tulip Shuttle. Passes, transfers, bus tickets, O-Train tickets and Smart Cards will not be valid on the Tulip Shuttle. The Tulip Shuttle Ticket and Tulip Experience Passport are not accepted on regular OC Transpo service.

Free parking and hundreds of spaces will be available at six OC Transpo Park & Ride lots with frequent Transitway service to downtown where transfers can be made to the shuttle. Festival-goers can also park at Greenboro station and ride in comfort aboard the O-Train to Carling station and take a short walk to the tulips, as well as the Tulip Shuttle, at Dow’s Lake.
