Ottawa
– To
commemorate the 60th anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe),
OC Transpo will offer free transit service on Sunday, May 8, to veterans
who wear their medals or uniforms and to their companions. OC Transpo will
also run free shuttles to the new Canadian War Museum for the opening
weekend on May 7 and 8.
The
shuttles will operate between Tunney’s Pasture and the Canadian War
Museum at LeBreton Flats. Ottawa
residents can take advantage of free parking at Tunney’s Pasture, then
hop on the free shuttle to the museum.
The
shuttle schedule is as follows:
Saturday,
May 7, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., and
Sunday, May 8, between 1 p.m. and 9
p.m.
The
new Canadian War Museum is also well served by many routes at LeBreton
Transitway Station.
STO (Société
de transport de l’Outaouais) will also operate
free shuttles from Gatineau to the Canadian War Museum on May 7 and 8, and
offer free transit to veterans on May 8. For more information, call
