City honours transit heroes

Ottawa – Mayor Chiarelli, city officials and OC Transpo’s Transecure Committee will recognize 12 OC Transpo employees who went above and beyond the call of duty in 2005 at the 16th annual TRANSECURE awards ceremony this Thursday. The 2005 TRANSECURE Employee of the Year will also be announced during the event. 

The formal ceremony will include presentations from Mayor Bob Chiarelli, Councillor Janet Stavinga, Chair of Transit Committee, Richard Hewitt, Acting Deputy City Manager, Alain Carle, Director of Transit Services, Bob Goody and Rick Maheral, Co-chairs of the Transecure Committee. Special guests include Ottawa Police Chief Vince Bevan, and senior officers from the Ontario Provincial Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Fire Chief Rick Larabie and Anthony Di Monte, Chief of Ottawa Paramedic Service.
