Ottawa
– War veterans who
wear their medals and/or uniforms can ride OC Transpo and STO
(Société de transport de l’Outaouais) free during National Veterans’
Week – November 5 to 11.
Where
it is safe to do so, OC Transpo and STO buses will pull over to the side
of the road to observe two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. on November 11. Taps
and Reveille will be played over the radios of OC Transpo buses.
On
Remembrance Day, OC Transpo will run a Saturday schedule and on Monday,
November 13, a revised weekday schedule will operate with minor
reductions on some routes. OC Transpo Sales and Information Centres will
be closed November 11 and 13 with the exception of the Rideau Centre that
will be open from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on November 11 and from 8:30 a.m. to 9
p.m. on November 13.
