Ottawa
– On
Sunday, April 15, OC Transpo will introduce new spring schedules and
reinstate the Rack
& Roll program. Rush hour commuter service will be improved with
two new routes, 163 and 183, serving Kanata West and Palladium Drive, and
extra trips added on route 101 serving Orléans residents.
Starting
April 15, OC Transpo will be adjusting service to reflect the lower
seasonal demand. New spring schedules go into effect on most routes. Minor
reductions mainly affect peak period routes and service to colleges and
universities to coincide with the end of their regular school year. New
printed timetables are available at OC Transpo Sales and Information
Centres, through the mail by calling 613-741-4390, and at www.octranspo.com.
New
route 163 will provide residents in the Fairwinds subdivision of Kanata
West, near Huntmar and Maple Grove, with a convenient link to Terry Fox
Station and service to downtown, while new route 183 will provide a
connection from Terry Fox Station to Palladium Drive. Additional rush hour
trips will be added on route 101 to Place d’Orléans that will provide
new direct connections to Carling Avenue, Queensway Station, Bayshore and
Kanata.
Rack
& Roll returns April 15 for another season. Cyclists can bring
their bikes on any OC Transpo bus equipped with a bike rack. Racks are
available on more than 200 buses and 12 designated routes, including route
145 which has been added this year.
