Ottawa
– Residents and tourists can relax and see the tulips aboard
the Tulip Shuttle, sponsored by 24 hours/vingt-quatre heures, on the
first three weekends of May. Children 11 and under ride free and adults
pay just $2.50 to ride the shuttle all day.
The Tulip shuttle will run along the
scenic canal route between Dows Lake and downtown Ottawa. The shuttle will
operate every 15 minutes between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the
Tulip Festival weekends: May
5 and 6, May 12 and 13, and May 19, 20 and 21.
For $2.50 (cash only), customers can
get a Tulip Shuttle Ticket and ride the shuttle all day. Passes,
transfers, bus tickets, O-Train tickets and Smart Cards will not be valid
on the Tulip Shuttle, and the Tulip Shuttle Ticket will not be accepted on
regular OC Transpo service.
Free parking and hundreds of spaces
will be available at six OC Transpo Park & Ride lots with frequent
Transitway service to downtown where transfers can be made to the shuttle.
Festival-goers can also park at Greenboro Station and ride in comfort
aboard the O-Train to Carling Station, then take a short walk to the
tulips and the Tulip Shuttle at Dow’s Lake.
