Ottawa – OC Transpo’s Rack & Roll program wraps
up for the season on October 31 as the racks go into hibernation for the
winter. Once
again this year the racks continued to be well-used by transit customers
who found travelling by bus and bike a convenient way to get around.
Initiated
in 1999, the Rack & Roll program now has 297 rack-equipped buses that
are installed mostly on routes 1, 2, 4, 7, 14, 85, 95, 96, 97, 101, 118
and 145. Routes 95, 96 and 97 continued to be the busiest routes due to
their length of travel, which enabled cyclists to enjoy various paths and
destinations that might otherwise have been unavailable.
The
removal of all bike racks will take several days, so some cyclists may be
fortunate enough to get in a few final trips on buses that have not yet
had their racks removed.
For transit information and trip planning
assistance, customers should call OC Transpo at 613‑741‑4390
