Best Time
T aking
transit is easier than ever. The best time to travel is weekdays
during the mid-day. You can create your own personalized travel plan
with the on-line, automated
Travel
Planner. The Travel Planner is fast and easy,
and you get instant results. Just click on
Travel Planner. Enter your departure point, destination and
travel date and time. You can choose a specific destination, such as
a shopping centre, under “Landmark”. If you need a low-floor bus,
choose “Accessible buses” under “Options”. You can also specify a
travel plan that has the fewest transfers and the least amount of
walking. If you prefer to call us for your travel planning,
just

Best Way
Most buses are
air-conditioned for summer comfort, and more than half the buses and
the O-Train are fully-accessible with no stairs for easy boarding.
Most trips during the mid-day will have an
accessible bus, and most
buses can “kneel” or lower to the curb so that boarding is easier.
Priority seating is
available near the front of the bus for anyone who has difficulty
standing. Some other easier access features include:
-
destination signs are
bright and easy-to-read to help you identify your route
-
yellow grab rails and
pull-cords
-
easy-to-reach stop
request buttons
If you need assistance to
travel, you can get a free
Attendant card. The
Attendant card will allow someone to accompany you on OC Transpo at
no charge when you pay your fare.

Best Fare
A discounted monthly pass is available for seniors who are 65 and
older. The pass lets you ride any route, including the O-Train. If
you pay with cash and take more than four return trips a month, a
pass will save you money. You’ll need to get an
OC Transpo photo ID
card for seniors to accompany your pass at a cost of $7.75.
The
regular bus fare is $3 or two $1.00 bus tickets, and the O-Train fare
is $2.25. Tickets cost $1 each and a Seniors
65+ pass is $30.40 a month or $364.80 for an Annual pass.

or extend the ramp so that boarding is easier
-
make a “priority seating”
announcement if you find that all the priority seats are
full
-
wait until you are seated
before pulling away from the stop
-
announce your destination
