Bus tickets

OC Transpo bus tickets are NOT accepted on the STO system.

Transfers, O-Train tickets & DayPass *

Express / Interzone STO Routes
When presenting a valid OC Transpo transfer, O-Train ticket or DayPass* to board an STO express or interzone bus, a top-up of the fare is required:

  • Express STO routes  ... $ 0.50

  • Interzone STO routes ... $ 2.60

Regular STO Routes
Transfers, O-Train tickets and DayPass are accepted as full fare on regular STO routes. 

* The DayPass cannot be used as a "family pass" on STO service.

Passes

Valid Transit Passes and DayPasses are accepted after 9 a.m. * without a fare top-up on regular STO routes. 

A supplement (fare top-up) is required on:

  • Express STO routes .....$ 0.50

  • Interzone STO routes: 
    ...... $ 2.60 Adults
    ...... $ 1.90 Students & Seniors

* Before 9:00 am - only when boarding in downtown Gatineau and Ottawa, unless accompanied by an Ontario residency card.

Attendants

Attendants ride free when the customer has an OC Transpo attendant card.

CNIB and Ontario Guide Dog and Access cards

Not accepted on STO.


Ontario residency card

Ontario residency cardThis photo ID card is available at the STO issuing centres for $8.00, taxes included. It entitles an OC Transpo pass holder to use the STO's services at any time. The supplements required for the express and interzone buses apply.

Conditions:  Be a resident of Ontario (proof required: OHIP card or driver's license) An application form must be completed.

Bus tickets

STO bus tickets are NOT accepted on 
OC Transpo buses.

Smart Card, Passes, Transfers & Passe-Temps*

 OC Transpo accepts all STO Smart Cards, transfers and Passe-Temps (similar to our DayPass) as full fare on all OC Transpo regular routes and the O-Train.

* The Passe-Temps cannot be used as a "family pass" on OC Transpo.

A top-up of the fare is required for:

  • Express routes .... $ 1.00 or 
    1 (95¢) OC Transpo bus ticket

  • Rural Express routes .... $ 2.00 or
    2 (95¢) OC Transpo bus tickets

Smart Card & Receipt*  Smart Card users must show the bus operator their receipt, with the exception of customers with a 'Programme Employeur' or 'Programme Fidelité' card.

Vouchers must be legible in order to be accepted as valid fare. Faded vouchers can and should be replaced. Contact STO for more information. Student  "School Days Only" vouchers are not accepted.

  • Children 11 and under with a  'Smart Card' are not required to top up the fare. 

  • Seniors age 65 and older with a Senior 'Smart Card' are not required to top up the fare. 

  • Children age 5 and under ride for free. 

Attendants
Attendants ride free when the customer has an STO attendant card.
