Effective on November 1, 2007, smoking will not be permitted anywhere on transit property, including:

  vehicles

Smoke-free Transit

  shelters

  bus stops

  platforms

  stations

  transitway

Special ConstablesTransit Special Constables are working to educate the public and ensure that transit property is smoke-free.

Fines
Smoking on transit property will result in a fine* anywhere from $150 to $5,000.  

Smoke-Free Ontario* Fines are set out by Transit By-Law 2007-268; City of Ottawa By-Laws 2001-148 and 2001-149; and the Smoke-Free Ontario Act
