Transitway
Station Safety Features |
- Yellow emergency callboxes are located throughout stations and in each elevator. Use them in an emergency, if you or someone else needs help or if you feel threatened. Press the button and you’ll be connected with our Security Control Centre via intercom.
-
If you prefer a more private conversation, you can make a free, direct, no-dial call to Security via any pay phone in a station – just press the “Security” button located under the number pad.
- Some Transitway Stations are equipped with yellow Night
Stops. In these stations, when the stop lights up after 9 p.m., use the Night Stop instead of your regular bus stop. Night Stops are located in central, well-lit areas.
- Stairwells have mirrors at strategic spots so that you can see around corners.
- Improved lighting.
- Shrubs and trees are trimmed to provide better visibility of the surrounding area.
Video Cameras are installed at selected stations.
- Safety audits are performed periodically in partnership with local police.
