Route 316 in Sandy Hill

It is proposed that route 316 be split into two routes as described below and shown on the map. Route 316 would be shortened to operate in Sandy Hill between Wiggins and Chapel and the Rideau Centre along the current routing.

At the Rideau Centre, route 316 buses would change over to route 6, which would provide residents with a no-transfer connection to Elgin Street and a new direct connection to Carling Avenue, the Civic Hospital and Tunney’s Pasture.

Route 316 would continue to operate the same hours as it does today. New route 153 would provide service on the western part of route 316.

New Route 153

It is proposed that route 153 replace route 316 from LeBreton Station via the current 316 routing to Cartier and Somerset. Connections from route 153 to Rideau Street could be made on Bank Street to routes 1, 2, 4 and 7, on Gladstone Avenue to route 14, and on Elgin Street to routes 5, 6 or 14. Service on Pretoria, Metcalfe and Argyle is already provided by route 6 on weekdays. These routes use low floor accessible buses.

Route 153 would operate similar hours to the 316, and would require a regular fare.
