TransPLAN 2008

back to TransPLAN...

The following service changes, if approved, would be implemented in September 2008.

It is proposed that routes 2 and 3 both be split into two routes in order to improve schedule adherence and reliability.

Route 2 and new route 12

It is proposed that route 2 continue to operate between Bayshore and downtown. The eastern portion of the route would be replaced by new route 12 that would operate between Blair and downtown at Bank and Somerset.

Service levels on both routes would be similar to the current levels.

Both routes 2 and 12 would overlap in the downtown area in order to minimize any inconvenience to customers. Since both routes would serve downtown, most customers could complete their trip without an additional transfer. New route 12 would require a regular fare.

It is also proposed that route 2 no longer deviate to serve Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre via Assaly and Croydon. (see map at right)The majority of customers would benefit from a faster trip to and from Bayshore and we would be able to provide a more direct service along Richmond Road. Customers would still be within walking distance of Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre and routes 18 and 156 would continue to provide direct service.

It is proposed that route 3 continue to operate between Colonnade and downtown at Rideau Street. Service between Hurdman and downtown would be replaced by new route 9, described below and shown on the map. Since both routes would operate through downtown, most customers could complete their trip without an additional transfer.

Supplemental rush hour trips that currently operate between downtown and 125 Sussex would still be provided by route 3.

Route 9 would operate from Hurdman to downtown along the current route 3 routing. New route 9 would require a regular fare.

It is also proposed that route 3 operate in both directions on Colonnade, instead of a one-way loop, in order to improve travel for Citiplace residents. This two-way service on Colonnade would be supplemented by peak period route 107. see map...

Service levels on both routes 3 and 9 would continue to operate similar to current levels.
