Cross-town West of Bank & Gatineau Local Peak-Only Transitway Routes
There are five main cross-town routes in the West Central and Gatineau area. Local buses connect at the Rideau Centre on Rideau St.   Several routes run during rush-hours only, to and from downtown.  These routes run on the Transitway, Albert and Slater Streets and Mackenzie King Bridge, through downtown.
 

Route 2 travels to Blair station via the length of Rideau St. and Montreal Rd.from Bank St. downtown headed north.  Southbound from Bank St., route 2 continues to Bayshore station via  Somerset, Wellington and  Richmond Rd. 

Route 7 travels North on Bank St. to St. Laurent station via Rideau St., Beechwood and St. Laurent Blvd.  Southbound, route 7 travels on Bank St. to Carleton U. 

Route 14 travels westbound to the Carlington area via Gladstone and Parkdale.  Eastbound it travels to St. Laurent station via the length of Rideau St. and McArthur Rd. 

Route 16 travels eastbound from Queen St. downtown to the hospitals on Smyth Rd. via Sandy Hill and Ottawa U. Westbound from Queen St. route 16 travels to the Carlingwood Shopping Centre and Lincoln Fields station via the Westboro area.

Route 18 travels eastbound from Queen St. downtown to the  St. Laurent station via the Overbrook area. Westbound from Queen St. route 18 travels to Britannia Park via Scott St. and Carlingwood Shopping Centre.

Route 85 travels westbound from Albert St. downtown via Carling Avenue to Bayshore Station. Eastbound from Slater St. via the Transitway and Smyth Road to St. Laurent station.

Routes 101/102 travels from Orleans via the Transitway to the Central Bus station on Catherine St.; then  to Bayshore via Carling Ave. and the Queensway. Some peak period trips are extended to Tunney's Pasture and are signed route 102. 

 

 

 





Route 4 travels north on Bank St. downtown to the Rideau Centre.  Southbound on Bank St. downtown, it continues to Hurdman station via Bronson ave. and Carleton U.

Route 8 travels from Albert St. downtown to Gatineau as far as the Museum of Civilization via Terrasses de la Chaudière and Place du Portage.  From Slater St. downtown, route 8 travels to Billings Bridge via Alta Vista Dr. 

Route 101 travels westbound from the Central Bus Station on Catherine St. to Bayshore via Carling Ave. and the Queensway (then to Kanata North).  Eastbound route 101 travels to Blair Station and Orleans via the Transitway.

Route 151 travels to and from Tunney's Pasture to Carlingwood S.C. via Westboro area, Kirkwood Ave. and Merivale Rd.

Route 156 travels in 2 directions from Lincoln Fields station. Southbound route156 goes to Carlingwood S.C. via McEwen and Northbound it travels towards Baseline station and Nepean South. 

Route 176 travels from north of Tunney's Pasture station to Fallowfield Station via Holland ave, Merivale Rd. and JDS.

Route 316 (Mon. to Sat.) travels through Sandy Hill eastbound from Bank St. downtown.  Westbound from Bank St. downtown, it travels to Lebreton station via Somerset and the Good Companions.





Route 15 travels in the p.m. rush hour from Cité collegiale to the Rideau Centre to Lincoln Fields station via the Transitway, Churchill Ave., Dovercourt Ave. and the Carlingwood Shopping Centre.  It does the reverse in the a.m. rush hour. 

Route 40 travels to Gatineau in the a.m. rush hour from Albert St. downtown.  It does the reverse in p.m. rush hour and travels to Gloucester South via the Transitway.

Route 41 travels from Albert St. downtown in the p.m. rush hour to Riverside Dr. and ends at Downpatrick at Hunt Club. It does the reverse in the a.m. rush hour.

Route 50 travels to Britannia Park in the p.m. rush hour from Albert St. downtown via the Transitway and Richmond Rd.  It does the reverse in the a.m. rush hour.

Route 51 travels to the Iris station in the p.m. rush hour from Albert St. downtown via the Queensway and Maitland ave.  It does the reverse in the a.m. rush hour.

Route 55 travels to Baseline  station from Albert St. downtown in the am rush hour. It does the reverse in the p.m. rush hour.

Route 57 travels to Baseline station from Albert St. downtown in the p.m. rush hour via Holland and Meadowlands.  It does the reverse in the a.m. rush hour.

Route 88 travels from Albert St. downtown to Gatineau as far as St.Laurent and Maissoneuve via Terrasses de la Chaudière and Place du Portage.  From Slater St. downtown, route 88 travels to South Keys Station via Alta Vista Dr. 

Route 105 travels from Tunney's Pasture and Lebreton to Gatineau as far as Sacre-Coeur and Maissoneuve via Terrasses de la Chaudière and Place du Portage. 

Routes 156, 172, 176 and 178 travel from downtown on Albert St. westbound in the p.m. rush hour Mon. to Fri. only.  

Route 180 travels from Albert St. downtown to Place du Portage and Terrasses de la Chaudière in Gatineau in the a.m. rush hour.  PM trips end at Lebreton. 





Route 85 travels to and from St. Laurent station to Bayshore via Smyth Rd. the Transitway and Carling Ave.

Route 86 travels to and from Elmvale S.C. to Lincoln Fields station via Coronation Rd. the Transitway, Holland and Meadowlands.

Route 87 travels to and from Greenboro station to Carlingwood S.C. via the Uplands area, Riverside Dr. and the Transitway.

Route 95  is the main Transitway route providing high-frequency service from the Orleans Transit Station to the Fallowfield Station via Downtown.

Route 96 travels from Stittsville and Kanata through Bayshore and Downtown via the Transitway to Hurdman Station.

Route 97 travels from  Bayshore and Downtown via the Transitway to the Airport.

Routes 101/102 travels from Orleans via the Transitway to the Central Bus station on Catherine St.; then  to Bayshore via Carling Ave. and the Queensway. Some peak period trips are extended to Tunney's Pasture and are signed route 102.

Rush-hour service to and from downtown is available on these premium-fare routes

Route 27 travels to Place du Portage and Terrasses de la Chaudière in Gatineau in the a.m. rush hour from Albert St. downtown.  In the p.m. rush hour, route 27 leaves from Place du Portage only and returns to Orleans via the Transitway.

All express routes from the East travel downtown via the Transitway. They travel on Albert St. as far as Lebreton station. Some trips are extended to Lincoln Fields station.

The express routes from the West travel downtown via the Transitway. They travel on Slater St. to Hurdman station.  Some trips are extended to Blair station.

Route 99 will be extended from Blair Station via Regional Road 174 to Place d’Orléans Station and Park & Ride lot. Route 99 will provide Orléans residents with an alternative crosstown route that bypasses downtown. It will also provide a more direct connection to destinations such as Carling Avenue and the Civic Hospital and Tunney's Pasture, as well as improved connections to other routes.  
    

Route 99 will be renamed in September as new routes 101 and 102. The trips travelling to Bayshore and Kanata will be route 101, while the new peak period trips extended to Tunney's Pasture will be route 102. 

These changes will start September 3, 2006 except for route 136 which will start June 25, 2006.
