On-Board Video Surveillance System – Notice of Collection of Personal Information

Selected buses and Para Transpo vehicles are equipped with an on-board video surveillance system. The system records the interior of the bus when the bus it is in motion. The purpose of the system is to enhance customer and employee safety and security, as part of OC Transpo’s comprehensive security plan.

Personal information (such as images of passengers on the bus) is recorded on the system and is collected by OC Transpo for the purposes of operating its public transit system under the authority of Section 12.17(1) of the City of Ottawa Act, 1999, S.O. 1999, Chapter 14, Schedule E, as amended.

Personal information recorded from the system will only be collected, used, and disclosed by authorized persons for limited purposes such as law enforcement, as regulated by the Access and Privacy Policy.
