Subject

O-Train Line 2 service adjustments on May 2 and 3

Date

April 27, 2026

This memo is to advise the Mayor and Members of Council that on the mornings of Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, a segment of O-Train Line 2 will be temporarily replaced by R2 bus service.

These service adjustments are required for work on components of two rail switches along the line. This work has been planned for some time to help reduce noise levels for nearby residents when trains pass over the switches. These specialized adjustments are sensitive to temperature, and spring is the ideal time to effectively complete this work. In addition, some planned inspections have also been scheduled during this period to minimize disruption to customers.

For customers, this means that:

On Saturday, May 2, from 6:30 am to noon:

  • Line 2 trains will operate between Limebank and Greenboro stations.
  • R2 buses will operate between South Keys and Bayview stations.
  • Full Line 2 service will resume at noon between Limebank and Bayview stations.
  • There will be no impact to Line 4 service between South Keys Station and the Airport.

On Sunday, May 3, from 7:30 am to 11 am:

  • Line 2 trains will operate between Limebank and Carleton stations.
  • R2 buses will operate between Carleton and Bayview stations.
  • Full Line 2 service will resume at 11 am between Limebank and Bayview stations.
  • There will be no impact to Line 4 service between South Keys Station and the Airport.

R2 replacement bus service will run approximately every 12 minutes to match demand and ensure customers can continue to make their trips.

Customers are encouraged to use the Travel Planner and the Transit app to plan their trips. Customers can also visit octranspo.com for travel planning assistance or call 613-560-5000. Information, reminders, and updates will be communicated to customers through various channels, including public service announcements, customer alerts, social media updates and on octranspo.com.

OC Transpo thanks customers for their patience during the temporary service adjustments required to maintain and improve our rail systems. We recognize that all adjustments to transit service have an impact on customers, and we make every effort to minimize disruptions when scheduling necessary work.
