Improvements coming to Presto payment system
Metrolinx is currently updating the Presto system to improve customer experience.
During the next few weeks, you might notice a one-time delay when you tap your Presto card on a fare reader or fare gate, or at a ticket machine.
This is normal! It means that your card has completed the update. The delay will only happen once.
Changes in this update include:
- Instant loads
- Real-time transactions
- Real-time balances
- Removal of overdraft
Overdraft will not be available once your card has updated. Make sure you always have enough funds loaded on your card to pay for your trips.
