Update: Notice of Long Duration Ramp Closure: Pinecrest Road at Highway 417 - May 9 to June 22

The original end date for the lane reductions on Highway 417 has been reduced by 5 weeks as a result of acceleration measures. The end date has been updated below.

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists wishing to travel eastbound on Highway 417 using the on-ramp from southbound Pinecrest Road should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What: 
Long duration full closure of the Highway 417 eastbound on-ramp from southbound Pinecrest Road.

When: 
Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 p.m. until Tuesday, June 22 at 8:00 a.m.

Why: 
Overhead signage (OHS) installation.

Where: 
Highway 417 eastbound on-ramp from southbound Pinecrest Road.

Detour

Motorists north of the Highway near the Pinecrest / Highway 417 interchange are encouraged to use Carling Avenue to travel eastbound to Woodroffe Avenue where they can access eastbound Highway 417.

Anticipated Impacts

Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.

Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.

The safety of the public and workers is paramount, and we thank you for your patience during construction.
