Operation Mask Up

October 13 - 14

Wearing a mask plays an important role in stopping the spread of COVID‑19. As of June 15, 2020, masks were made mandatory on public transit. All customers and employees are required to wear a mask or face covering inside bus shelters, stations, and vehicles.

Given recent customer feedback regarding mask compliance on R1 replacement buses, OC Transpo Special Constables will issue fines to those customers failing to comply with the mandatory mask policy. Those customers will also not be permitted to access the transit system.

Special Constables will reinforce the proper wearing of masks and will distribute disposable masks to customers who do not have their own.

We understand that there are a variety of reasons that some customers may be unable to wear a mask. And as such, young children, and customers who identify themselves as having a disability or medical condition, will not be issued a fine.

We want to thank the vast majority of our customers who are wearing their masks every day on OC Transpo, and helping to stop the spread of COVID‑19 in our City. When it comes to health and safety, we remain committed to the highest standards.
