O-Train Confederation Line service
- Travel 12.5 km from Tunney’s Pasture to Blair Station in under 25 minutes
- Catch a train every 5 minutes or less during rush hour, and at least every 15 minutes other times of the day
- The O-Train Confederation Line will have 13 stations, including 4 underground stations: Lyon, Parliament, Rideau and St-Laurent
- 34 Alstom Citadis Spirit train cars will
operate on the line - Each two-car train can accommodate 600 passengers (240 seated, 360 standing) and reach speeds up to 80 km/hour
- During peak rush hours, the O-Train Confederation Line has the capacity to move 10,000 people efficiently and reliably per hour per direction
- The O-Train Confederation Line will be fully accessible. Features will include:
- 100% low-floor vehicles that are level with the station platforms
- Grab bars, digital screens, and door operating controls at accessible heights
- Tactile wayfinding tiles and platform edge indicator strips
- Two elevators at each platform
Station Experience
- Public art in each station
- Signage and wayfinding at all stations has been designed to be clear and useable by everyone
- Passenger information displays for next train time and service status messages
- All stations have bicycle parking and connections to multi-use pathways (MUPs)

- Camera-monitored stations
- High quality lighting design
- Transecure waiting areas with radiant heating
- Slip-resistant, low-glare vehicle floors
- Emergency passenger intercoms onboard and emergency phones throughout the stations
- Emergency exits clearly visible
Quality Service
- Transfer with ease to and from buses and trains via fare-paid zones
- Communicate with customer service representatives throughout each station by using information phones or audio-visual customer help points at ticket machines
- Purchase tickets and passes, and load your Presto card at ticket machines
- Stations are equipped with fare control areas, including easy to use fare gates
Environmentally Friendly
Zero train emissions each year
- Annual reduction of:
- 94,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases
- 4,500 tonnes of criteria air contaminants
- 10 million litres of diesel fuel
- 5,600 tonnes of roadway salt
- Regenerative braking provides electric power for use by other trains on the system
