If you follow us on Twitter, use the OC Transpo app, or subscribe to alerts at octranspo.com, you will receive service information about bus detours and cancelled trips, whenever possible. If trip cancellations occur at the last minute we may not have time to send an alert before the trip was scheduled to begin. If the information is very late, no alert will be sent.
We try to always send high-priority alerts that have the biggest impact on customers, such as interruptions to O-Train service, cancelled trips on less frequent bus routes, or elevator outages at transit stations.
Before a trip is cancelled, the OC Transpo Control Centre works hard to find a replacement bus. Cancellation is always a last resort. Sometimes a replacement bus is located after a cancellation alert has already been issued. In this case we will do our best to send an update.
The best way to receive the latest updated arrival information, including all delays and trip cancellations, is to use the OC Transpo app or 560: text 560560 or call 613-560-1000, plus your 4-digit bus stop number. Standard rates apply. The 560 service always has the most recent information from GPS bus locations and from the OC Transpo Control Centre, where cancellations and replacement buses are first identified.
