    You may be asked for proof of age when you use a card with this discount.
  • No-charge service on Wednesdays and Sundays* on all routes (except Para Transpo).
  • Discounted monthly pass ($59.75)
  • Lower Presto fares ($3.28 per ride)

Seniors 65+ can ride no charge on OC Transpo buses and the O-Train on Wednesdays and Sundays. If you’re using a fare gate, you must use a Presto card set with the senior discount.

Students at U-Pass institutions

Eligibility criteria Required proof of eligibility Available discounts

Be a full-time student at:

  • Algonquin College
  • Carleton University
  • Saint Paul University
or
  • uOttawa

Varies by institutions:
  • U-Pass (cost included in your student fees) lets you ride all OC Transpo and STO routes during your full-time school terms:
    • From Sept. 1 to April 30, for the regular school year
    • From May 1 to Aug. 31 for spring/summer

Youth 13–18

From July 1 until August 31, 2026, youth age 13–18 ride for free on OC Transpo buses, trains and Para Transpo.

To ride for free, you need a Presto card set up with an Youth discount. You can set your fare discount at:

  • The Rideau OC Transpo Customer Service Centre
  • A ServiceOttawa Centre
  • Participating Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws or Real Canadian Superstores

To get set this discount on your Presto card, bring proof of your age.

If you have an Adult Presto card set to auto-renew with an Adult monthly pass, don't forget to cancel auto-renew when you get your Youth discount set on the card.

Beginning September 1, Youth ride free on weekday evenings (after 5 pm), weekends and holidays for the rest of the year with a Presto card. Outside of these times, regular fare ($4.10) applies.

Pre-teen 11–12

From July 1 until August 31, 2026, pre-teens age 11–12 ride for free on OC Transpo buses, trains and Para Transpo.

To ride for free, you need a Presto card set up with a Pre-teen discount. You can set your fare discount at:

  • The Rideau OC Transpo Customer Service Centre
  • A ServiceOttawa Centre
  • Participating Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws or Real Canadian Superstores

To get set this discount on your Presto card, bring proof of your age.

  • Receive benefits under the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
  • ODSP number (9-digit identification number found on an ODSP document) and a Presto card number OR Para Transpo ID number
  • Discounted monthly Community pass ($43.25) or per-ride fare ($1.75) that let you ride on all routes, including Para Transpo, without a top-up
  • Rural fare not included

  • Para Transpo registration number
  • Discounted monthly Access pass. This pass lets you ride unlimited on the O-Train and all non Para Transpo buses and lets you save one-third of the cash-fare price (per ride) on your Para Transpo trips and ride for only $43.25.
