Blair Station elevator replacement
Beginning in October 2025 and continuing into winter 2026, customers will see construction work underway at Blair Station as part of the Blair Station Elevator Replacement Project.
The current elevator in the north tower of Blair Station (closest to the Gloucester Centre) is due for lifecycle replacement. To ensure reliable, accessible service for customers in the years to come, two new elevators are being constructed.
This work will involve several phases of mobilization, demolition, and construction. During this time, customers may see construction crews, equipment, and fencing around the station.
Impacts during the construction period at Blair Station will include:
- Bus stops around the construction zone will be moved to another part of the platform, and the shelters for these stops will be temporarily removed to facilitate construction activity.
- Pedestrian access to the station will be detoured in some areas, with signage indicating alternate accessible pathways.
- Some bike parking that falls within the construction zone will be temporarily removed.

The project team, contractor, and OC Transpo are working together to minimize customer impacts whenever possible. The existing elevator is to remain operational until the first replacement elevator is in service.
During periods when the elevator and/or stairway are closed to accommodate critical construction activities, signage will be in place directing customers to use an alternative, accessible pathway to maintain access between the upper level and the north bus platform. Planned impacts to elevator service will be communicated in advance.
Signage will be in place at Blair Station advising of current impacts. Details will also be posted on our Alerts page.
