Highway 174 Westbound Off-Ramp to Montreal Road - Overnight Closure - July 16
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 westbound at Montreal Road should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.
What:
Full closure of Highway 174 westbound off-ramp to Montreal Road.
When:
Wednesday, July 16 at 11:00 p.m. until Thursday, July 17 at 5:30 a.m.
Why:
Overhead sign installation.
Where:
Highway 174 westbound at Montreal Road.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detour
Motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 to Montreal Road:
- Take the Highway 174 westbound off-ramp at Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard and travel south on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard to St. Joseph Boulevard. Turn right and travel east on St. Joseph Boulevard to Montreal Road.
OR
- Take the Highway 174 westbound off-ramp at Blair Road and travel north on Blair Road to Ogilvie Road. Turn right and travel east on Ogilvie Road to Montreal Road.
Anticipated Impacts
Residents near the interchange can expect the following construction activities to take place:
- Night work is needed at times to accommodate work that requires traffic closures that cannot be done during the day, thus mitigating impacts on the travelling public.
- Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
- Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place to ensure safety.
