Notice of Long-term Road Closure: Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, Woodroffe Avenue will be fully closed to motor vehicle traffic between Richmond Road and Deschênes Street. Detours will be in effect.
Access to the properties north of Richmond Road, including 929 Richmond Road, will be maintained via alternate routes. Driveway access will be maintained for all residents and businesses in the area during this work
This closure is necessary to allow for the replacement of deep sanitary sewer infrastructure and the final road reconstruction as part of the Revitalizing Richmond Road Project.
What:
Full closure of Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond Road and Deschênes Street.
When:
As early as Monday, July 14 until Fall 2025.

Detour Routes
Motorists to the north of Richmond Road wishing to travel eastbound will proceed north on Woodroffe Avenue to the Kichi Zìbì Mìkan (KZM). They will then merge onto the KZM and continue eastbound to Island Park Drive.
Motorists to the north of Richmond Road wishing to travel westbound will proceed north on Woodroffe Avenue to the Kichi Zìbì Mìkan (KZM). They will then merge onto the KZM and continue eastbound until reaching the signed turnaround to the east of Aylen Avenue. They will follow the turnaround route and merge onto the westbound KZM where they will continue west until reaching Carling Avenue.
Access to the Woodroffe North community via the KZM will remain in place during the closure of Woodroffe Avenue between Richmond Road and Deschênes Street. During NCC Bike Days, when the westbound KZM is closed, motorists can continue to access the Woodroffe North community via the eastbound KZM.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on Woodroffe Avenue during the work.
Upcoming Work
Crews will be working in the coming weeks to complete the temporary turnaround on the KZM east of Woodroffe Avenue.
Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.
