Notice of Road Closure - Scott Street - Updated - August 2025
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling on Athlone Avenue toward Scott Street should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.
What
Full closure of Athlone Avenue at Scott Street. Access to Scott Street from Athlone Avenue will be blocked. The sidewalk on the south side of Scott Street between Athlone Avenue and Tweedsmuir Avenue will also be closed. Driveway access will be maintained for all properties during this work. A detour will be in effect.
When
Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Detour Routes
Motorists wishing to access Scott Street from Athlone Avenue will proceed east on Richmond Road, turn left onto Tweedsmuir Avenue and then continue north until connecting with Scott Street.
Pedestrians and cyclists traveling east on Scott Street will cross to the north side of the street at Athlone Avenue and continue east until reaching Tweedsmuir Avenue. They will then cross to the south side of Scott Street and continue east.
Anticipated Impacts
- Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
- Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.
The safety of the public and workers is paramount, and we thank you for your patience during construction.
