As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, a section of the sidewalk on Richmond Road between the Kichi Zìbì Mìkan (KZM) and Richardson Avenue will be closed. A pedestrian detour is in place.

Long-term closure of the south sidewalk on Richmond Road between the KZM and Richardson Avenue.

Until Wednesday, August 20.

Preparation of subgrade for upcoming road works.

Pedestrian Detour

Pedestrians travelling eastbound on Richmond Road will follow the signed detour beginning at the multi-use pathway (MUP) to the east of the KZM. They will follow the MUP north until reaching Richmond Road. They will travel east along Richmond Road to Edgeworth Avenue where they will cross to the north side of Richmond Road. They will continue eastbound using the north sidewalk on Richmond Road. Prior to reaching Richardson Avenue, pedestrians will cross back to the south sidewalk on Richmond Road.

Pedestrians travelling westbound on Richmond Road will follow the signed detour beginning to the west of Richardson Avenue. At Richardson Avenue they will cross to the north side of Richmond Road and proceed westbound until reaching Edgeworth Avenue. At Edgeworth Avenue they will cross to the south side of Richmond Road. They will continue west on Richmond Road until reaching the MUP connection. They will proceed south and then west on the MUP until reconnecting with the sidewalk on the south side of Richmond Road.

Anticipated Impacts

Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.

Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
