Taxi Coupon Program

Overview

The Taxi Coupon Program allows Para Transpo customers to take discounted taxi service as an alternative to Para Transpo. You can book your trip, at your convenience, with participating Ottawa taxi companies (see below) and save 55% off the regular taxi fare.

Program enhancements

You can now sign up for Automatic Ordering. With this option:

You can sign up to receive a number of coupon books every month
Payments are processed on the 1st of the month
Your coupons will be mailed to you 2 to 5 business days later

Council approved funding for these improvements as part of the Vehicle-for-Hire Accessibility Fund Report.

Eligibility

Registered Para Transpo customers are eligible to participate in the Taxi Coupon Program.

Friends or family may travel with you at no extra charge, up to the capacity of the vehicle.

Pricing and Tips

The cost is $18 for a coupon book worth $40 in taxi fares.
Each book has a selection of $1, $2, and $5 coupons.

An eligible customer can buy up to 8 coupon books each month.

Important tips about coupons

Coupons are not refundable and lost or stolen coupons will not be reimbursed.
Coupons are for the sole use of the Para Transpo customer who buys them.
They cannot be resold or given to anyone else.
Anyone who abuses this policy will be ineligible to participate in the program.
Friends or family may travel with you, up to the capacity of the vehicle, at no extra charge.

For customers who are blind or visually impaired, the coupons are identified with hole punches for the different values.

How to Buy Coupons

You can order by phone or mail, but please allow two weeks for delivery.

If you're making payment with Visa, Mastercard or American Express, call 613-842-3670.
Mail Orders
Please send a cheque or money order (no cash), payable to the City of Ottawa, in the amount of $18 per book, along with your name, mailing address and Para Transpo registration number to:

Book your Taxi Trip

Call any participating Ottawa taxi company directly to book your trip and tell them that you are using the Taxi Coupon Program.

Important tips

If you use a mobility device or require assistance, advise the taxi dispatcher when you book your trip.
Coupons will be accepted at their face value.
The taxi driver will not provide change from coupons, so please ensure you have extra cash to pay any balance if the fare is not an even amount.
Coupons cannot be used for tips.
If you are using taxi coupons to pay your meter fare and have any concerns with the taxi service, please call the taxi company directly or the City of Ottawa at 3-1-1
