Highway 174 Eastbound from Place d’Orléans to Tenth Line Road - Overnight Closures - August 5, 6

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 eastbound between Place d’Orléans and Tenth Line Road should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What:          
Full closure of Highway 174 eastbound between Place d’Orléans and Tenth Line Road.

When:         
Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6 from 9:00 p.m. each night until 5:30 a.m. the following day.  

Why: 
Sign installation.

Where:        
Highway 174 eastbound between Place d’Orléans and Tenth Line Road.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detour
Motorists travelling eastbound on Highway 174 will exit at Place d’Orléans, proceed east on Place d’Orléans Drive to St. Joseph Boulevard, continue eastbound on St. Joseph Boulevard, and then re-enter Highway 174 using the eastbound St. Jospeh Boulevard on-ramp.

Anticipated Impacts

• Night work is needed at times to accommodate work that requires traffic closures that cannot be done during the day, thus mitigating impacts on the travelling public.
• Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
• Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place to ensure safety.
