As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling on Champlain Street looking to travel westbound on Highway 174  should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What:        
Full closure of the Highway 174 westbound on-ramp from southbound Champlain Street.

When:       
Sunday, September 14 between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Why:         
Final paving.

Where:      
Highway 174 westbound on-ramp from southbound Champlain Street.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists looking to connect to Highway 174 westbound from southbound Champlain Street will drive south to Place d’Orléans Drive. Turning right they will follow Place d’Orléans Drive to St. Joseph Boulevard where they will turn right and travel west to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard. They will turn right and travel north on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard to connect with Highway 174 westbound.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.
