July 12 to 15 - Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at Highway 174 Interchange - Weekend Full Closure

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at Highway 174 should anticipate impacts to traffic as crews complete necessary construction activities.

What:          
Full closure of Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at Highway 174 and associated ramps.

When:         
Friday, July 12 at 9:00 p.m. to Monday, July 15 at 5:30 a.m.

Why:           
Electrical work and paving.

Where:        
Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard at Highway 174 interchange.

The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Detours
Motorists can access Highway 174 in both directions at the Place d’Orléans / Champlain Street interchange, or at the Montreal Road interchange. Motorists are encouraged to cross Highway 174 at the Place d’Orléans / Champlain Street interchange to avoid lane reductions frequently in place on Orléans Boulevard.

Residents near the interchange can expect the following construction activities to take place:

  • Trucks will deliver material to the site. Noise from equipment and moving of material will be audible.
  • Noise and vibration monitors will be in place.
  • Site lighting and generators will be used to power lights which are a safety requirement for overnight work. Crews will place and/or direct the light away from residences to mitigate any impacts.
  • Night work is needed at times to accommodate work that requires traffic closures that cannot be done during the day, thus mitigating impacts on the travelling public.
  • Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place to ensure safety.
