Notice of Lane Reduction and Ramp Closures: Highway 174 Westbound between Tenth Line Road and Champlain Street - October 18
As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, motorists travelling Highway 174 westbound should anticipate mobility impacts.
What:
Highway 174 westbound will have a slow lane reduction between Tenth Line Road and Champlain Street while crews work on the Highway. The following ramps will also be closed:
- Highway 174 westbound on-ramp from southbound Tenth Line Road.
- Highway 174 westbound off-ramp to Champlain Street.
- Highway 174 westbound on-ramp from northbound Champlain Street.
When:
Saturday, October 18 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Why:
Paving of shoulder and acceleration lanes.
Where:
Highway 174 westbound from Tenth Line Road to Champlain Street.

Detours
Motorists travelling westbound on Highway 174 looking to access the Champlain Street and Place d’Orléans Drive areas will exit at Tenth Line Road and use St. Joseph Boulevard to the south.
Motorists north of Highway 174 at Tenth Line Road looking to travel westbound on Highway 174 will travel south to St. Joseph Boulevard. They will turn right and travel west on St. Joseph Boulevard to Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard to enter Highway 174 using the Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard on-ramp,
Motorists south of Highway 174 at Champlain Street/Place d’Orléans Drive looking to travel westbound on Highway 174 will use the Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard on-ramp.
The construction work outlined in this notice is subject to change. Work may be delayed or extended due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Anticipated Impacts
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
