A pedestrian detour will be in place. Motor vehicle traffic will not be impacted by this work and the current traffic configuration on Richmond Road will remain in place.
What:
Long-term closure of the south sidewalk on Richmond Road between Kichi Zìbì Mìkan and McEwen Avenue.
When:
Wednesday, April 1 from 7:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
Why:
Electrical work.
Where:
Richmond Road between Kichi Zìbì Mìkan and McEwen Avenue.
Pedestrian Detour
Pedestrians travelling westbound on the south side of Richmond Road east of McEwen Avenue will cross over to the north side of Richmond Road at McEwen Avenue. They will then proceed west on the sidewalk to connect with the multi-use pathway (MUP) at the Kichi Zìbì Mìkan. They will then use the MUP to loop around to the south side of Richmond Road. Pedestrians travelling eastbound on Richmond Road will use this same detour but in the reverse direction.

Anticipated Impacts
Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.
Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
The safety of the public and workers is paramount, and we thank you for your patience during construction.
