As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, a section of the southbound bike lane on Woodroffe Avenue between Tallwood Drive and the Transitway as well as the sidewalk on the west side of the street will be closed. A cyclist and pedestrian detour will be in place.

What:
Long-term closure of the southbound bike lane on Woodroffe Avenue between Tallwood Drive and The Transitway as well as the sidewalk on the west side of the street.

When:
Thursday, August 28 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, September 11.

Why:
Removal of curbs, grading work, forming and concrete work.

Where:
The west side of Woodroffe Avenue between Tallwood Drive and the Transitway.

Pedestrian Detour

Cyclists travelling southbound on Woodroffe Avenue will follow the signed detour through Algonquin Station. Alternatively, cyclists may continue through the work zone on Woodroffe Avenue with general vehicle traffic. There is no impact to bicycle traffic in the northbound direction on the east side of the street.

Pedestrians using the west sidewalk on Woodroffe Avenue will follow the signed detour through Algonquin Station.

Anticipated Impacts
Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.

Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.

The safety of the public and workers is paramount,
and we thank you for your patience during construction.
