As part of the Stage 2 O-Train Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, Kichi Zìbì Mìkan will be fully closed in both directions from Woodroffe Avenue to Island Park Drive.

What:     
Kichi Zìbì Mìkan will be fully closed overnight.

When:    
Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 2.

Why:      
Asphalt repairs.

Where:   
Kichi Zìbì Mìkan between Woodroffe Avenue and Island Park Drive.

Detour
Motorists wishing to travel eastbound on the KZM between Woodroffe Avenue and Island Park Drive will proceed east on Carling Avenue until reaching Kirkwood Avenue. They will turn left onto Kirkwood Avenue and proceed north until reaching Richmond Road. They will then turn right onto Richmond Road and continue east until reaching Island Park Drive. They will then turn left onto Island Park Drive and continue north until connecting with the KZM.

Motorists wishing to travel westbound on the KZM at Island Park Drive will proceed south on Island Park Drive until reaching Richmond Road. They will turn right onto Richmond Road and continue west until reaching Kirkwood Avenue. They will then turn left onto Kirkwood Avenue and continue south until reaching Carling Avenue, where they will turn right and continue westbound.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Residents residing along the KZM between Woodroffe Avenue and Island Park Drive may see and/or hear equipment and trucks working along the parkway.
  • Site lighting for overnight work may be required and crews will place and/or direct the light to mitigate impact on residents.
  • Motorists should adhere to detours, traffic control signage, posted speed limits, allow for added travel time and use extra caution when moving through active construction corridors as traffic patterns change.
  • Pedestrians and cyclists should use extra caution and adhere to posted signage when localized detours are in-place, to ensure safety.

The safety of the public and workers is paramount, and we thank you for your patience during construction.
