Presto on Para Transpo

Para Transpo accepts Presto cards loaded with a monthly pass. However, because Para Transpo vehicles don't have card readers, you need to show proof of pass purchase when you board. You can get Proof of Payment one of the following ways:

In person

Visit an OC Transpo Sales and Information Centre or a City of Ottawa Client Service Centre and ask for a “query receipt” when loading a monthly pass onto your card, as shown in the sample.

When you call to load your monthly pass onto your PRESTO card, please ask the agent to send you a receipt of purchase.

Online

Go to your account on prestocard.ca and print the “Card Summary” page. Or, if you subscribe to automatic renewal of your monthly pass, print the “Period Pass Autorenew” page, as shown in the samples below.

Your new balance or monthly pass will be transferred to your card the next time you tap.

You can't use money from your e-Purse to pay your fare or your top-up because Para Transpo vehicles don't have Presto card readers.

New Para Transpo electronic fare payment system coming soon

Para Transpo is working on a new advance-payment service. The new system will give you convenient, simple and flexible ways to pay for trips.  As it is account based, there will be no need to carry a card.  The system will work with Para Transpo’s scheduling and reservation software and let you buy monthly passes or pay per trip.

Para Transpo users ride free on the O-Train Trillium Line

Registered Para Transpo customers are eligible to ride free on the O-Train Trillium Line. Because the O-Train operates on a Proof of Payment (POP) system, you will need to have your Para Transpo registration number at hand in case you're asked to show proof of payment. If you transfer from the O-Train to OC Transpo bus service or Para Transpo service, you will need to pay the applicable Para Transpo or OC Transpo bus fare.
