Escalator maintenance along Line 1

Starting on January 6, there will be planned maintenance for escalators in Line 1 stations. Maintenance is taking place to keep the escalators running safely and smoothly.

Work on each escalator is expected to take two to three days.

Testing Stage 2 trains on Line 1

OC Transpo has begun testing the new Trains that will be brought into service as part of the Stage 2 Project.

The trains will be tested on the Confederation Line in the evenings and on weekends and will have no impact on normal operations.

Winter Service starts Jan. 5, 2020

Starting Sunday January 5, 2020, many bus routes will have new schedules and added trips. A few service adjustments will also happen earlier on December 22.

Based on your feedback, the Winter Service Change includes service improvements when connecting to and from O-Train Line 1.

Nearby construction at Lyon Station

Planned blasting work unrelated to O-Train Line 1 is taking place near Lyon Station.

Customers may hear loud noises and feel vibrations while work is underway.

Blasting will take place on weekdays between 7 am and 4 pm until April 2020.

R1 Express coming Dec. 2

O-Train replacement service now includes an Express option.

R1 Express buses may be activated to replace busy parts of Line 1 if the train is not running. R1 Express skips some stations to quickly re-connect you with Line 1 trains. Skipped stations are served by Regular R1 replacement service.

Ticket machines

OC Transpo Ticket Machine now at the Ottawa International Airport

You can now buy your transit fare at YOW Airport. Look for our Ticket Machine at the south end of the Arrivals terminal.

You can buy a single-ride ticket or one of our convenient DayPass options (1, 3, 5 or 7 days). These fares are valid right away and let you ride buses and trains in Ottawa and Gatineau. Machines accept cash, credit and debit.
