Detours and delays downtown this weekend

Demonstrations this weekend are expected to cause traffic problems for buses downtown. Delays are also possible across the city. If you are travelling this weekend, give yourself extra time.

Rideau Station bus service will move to Mackenzie King Bridge.

Queen Street bus service, including Parliament Station, will move to:

  • Westbound service on Albert Street
  • Eastbound service Slater Street

Additional routes may be detoured as needed. Other stops may also be affected. Check the Alerts for up-to-the-minute information on detours, delays, and cancellations.

New way to pay at Line 1 stations

You can now tap to pay with your credit card and smartphone mobile wallet at one of the fare gates of all O-Train Line 1 stations. Only single-ride Adult fares will be charged at the gate during the trial period, and no transfer will be issued.

  • Mastercard
  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay

Winter service change

Winter service starts Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Highway 417 westbound off-ramp at Pinecrest will be closed to all vehicles, including buses, for Stage 2 construction.

NEW special school routes added to serve Earl of March Secondary School, John McCrae Secondary School, Merivale High School, and St. Mother Teresa High School.

Bikesecure provides customers with a reserved parking spot that protects their bicycles against theft, vandalism and bad weather.

Bikesecure offers secure bicycle parking at the following stations:

  • Greenboro
  • Strandherd
  • St-Laurent
  • Fallowfield

Presto on Para Transpo

Para Transpo customers can now provide their Presto card number to Para Transpo and our system will confirm to the operator that the pass is loaded.

Once you have provided your Presto card number, show your card to the operator for verification when boarding. There will be no need to carry a receipt with you.

The Virtual Line: A better way to “line” up

We are introducing a new way to line up at the OC Transpo Customer Service Centre in the Rideau Centre. Our new Virtual Line allows you to avoid queuing outside the service centre by providing a ticket number that holds your place in a virtual line.

Once you have received a ticket, we suggest you don't go too far from the call screen in case your number comes up!

Line 2 closing for O‑Train expansion

O-Train Line 2 is closing for approx. 2 years in preparation for Stage 2. The last day of O-Train service on Line 2 is Saturday May 2.

Starting on Sunday May 3:

  • Line 2 bus service will serve bus stops at or near all Line 2 stations
  • Most Line 2 stations will be closed, except for Bayview and Greenboro
  • Ticket machines, information telephones, and emergency call boxes will be available at Bayview and Greenboro

Para Transpo customers can now test new online forms to Reserve a trip or Cancel a trip. Both forms are mobile-friendly and accessible.

The forms provide a new alternative to reserving and cancelling trips by phone. You can continue reserving and cancelling trips by phone if you prefer.
