National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Saturday, September 30

O-Train Line 1 and buses, including Line 2 replacement service, will operate Saturday schedule.

Para Transpo customers can book trips online with My Para Transpo or by calling 613-560-5000, starting Saturday, September 23.

The OC Transpo Customer Service Centre in the Rideau Centre will be open from 9:30 am until 9 pm.

The OC Transpo Lost and Found office will be closed on Monday, October 2.

Fall service change

Fall service starts Sunday, August 27, 2023

  • Service improvements and seasonal adjustments for various routes.
  • School service resumes August 29 for French schools and September 5 for English schools.
  • NEW school routes added: Routes 677 and 679 serving St. Joseph High School and Routes 682 and 683 serving Cedarview Middle School.
  • Weekend service to summer destinations ends Monday, September 4.

Bus and train service

On weekdays, service on O-Train Line 1 during peak periods will operate every five mins. On weekends, service will operate every ten minutes. The Shuttle Express service that began on August 15, 2023, will continue to operate as an alternative to O-Train Line 1.

When one chapter closes, another will open.

Wednesday, June 21: we have retired our OC Transpo app for iOS and partnered with Transit to provide Ottawa users with free access to the Royale subscription.

Users will receive a message in the app informing them that OC Transpo is upgrading them to Royale. You will be able to access the subscription's additional features immediately, as long as you have the latest version of the app.

All fare readers on buses and fare gates at O-Train Line 1 stations now support payment by credit card and mobile wallet with O-Payment!

  • Visa card
  • Mastercard
  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay

Register for an O-Payment account to track your trips, payments, or print receipts. Before registering, or to add a new card to an existing account, you must first complete a trip on O-Train or a bus using a credit card or mobile wallet. Visit the Getting started section of our O-Payment page for details.

You may have noticed new fare readers on buses and at O-Train Line 1 fare gates recently. These fare readers have upgraded capabilities that allow more kinds of fares to be tapped and scanned.

Here are what these readers can do:

  • Scan barcoded fares
  • Tap your Senior Presto card any day of the week
  • Tap your multi-day pass or child card

Rack & Roll practice bike rack is on the move!

Have you checked out our new Rack & Roll practice bike rack? It was first introduced at Hurdman Station last fall, and will frequently move to a new location. This makes it easier for cyclists to try it out in their own area. Keep checking back to find out where you can try out the practice bike rack each month.

The practice rack is located at Tunney's Pasture Station on Scott Street to the right of the entrance.

Our teams are closely monitoring ridership demand and trends as federal government workers return to the workplace. We have capacity for returning commuters and we are prepared to make changes to service where there is a need.

Para Transpo customers can now text 57272 (or 5PARA) to connect with OC Transpo Customer Service representatives from 6 am to 12:30 am every day. With 57272, our Customer Service Representatives are just a text away!

Text us to:

  • Find out the estimated arrival time of your Para Transpo vehicle
  • Make a direct cancellation for an upcoming trip
  • Ask general questions about Para Transpo service

Bookings, fit-in requests or other changes to trips cannot be done through text at this time. Instead, use My Para Transpo or call us at 613-560-5000.

Virtual Line - OC Transpo service without waiting in line

Avoid long wait times and secure your place in line. The Virtual Line allows you to reserve service time at the Rideau OC Transpo Customer Service Centre from the comfort of your home or while on the go!

  • Book an appointment for as soon as the next day and as far away as two weeks.
  • Join the line right away and speak to a Customer Service Representative within 15 minutes.
  • Check in with your mobile device or on-site kiosk.
  • Cancel your appointment or leave the line anytime.

This improved digital-queuing system is another way we are working to keep you safer.

New ticket machines available

We’ve made 19 additional ticket machines available to customers across the Southeast Transitway and at select stations across the city.

While all existing forms of payment remain available, these additional ticket machines provide more flexibility in buying and loading a Presto card, and connecting with our Customer Service team via video chat.
